Pi Liyang, with a Ph.D. in Law and a postdoctoral degree in Economic Geography, is an Associate Professor at the Henan University School of law and a supervisor for master's students. His research focuses on Environmental Resource Law. He is a director of the Environmental and Resource Protection Law Research Association of the Henan Law Society, the Agricultural and Rural Legal Research Association of the Henan Law Society, and the Yellow River Basin Ecological Protection Legal Research Association of the Kaifeng Law Society. He is also a member of the Expert Consultation Committee of the Kaifeng People's Procuratorate.
He has served as a review expert for the selection of outstanding court trials in 2017. He has led several projects, including those funded by the National Social Science Fund, the Ministry of Education's Humanities and Social Sciences Project, the Henan Law Research Project, and research projects commissioned by the Henan Provincial Federation of Social Sciences, the Economic and Trade Union, and the Research on Education and Research. He has participated in major projects of the Ministry of Education and the compilation of legal publicity readers by the former Ministry of Environmental Protection. He has also been involved in legislative research on the Henan Province Atmospheric Pollution Prevention and Control Regulations, the Henan Province Soil Pollution Prevention and Control Regulations, and the assessment of the Yangtze River Channel Sand Mining Management Regulations. He has published multiple papers in academic journals.
